The University of Bristol Theatre Collection is delighted to have acquired the archive of the esteemed stage actor, Michael Pennington. Totalling 69 boxes of material, the archive covers his career (both acting and writing) from the 1960s to 2010s. Material includes scripts, press cuttings, programmes, posters, correspondence, photographs and audio-visual material. There is also significant material relating to his one-man shows ‘Sweet William’ and ‘Anton Chekhov’.


This material has been roughly sorted and placed into archive quality packaging. It is currently uncatalogued, so please contact the Theatre Collection for more information or access to the material (theatre-collection@bristol.ac.uk).”
