I’ve just had information from a couple of sources (and confirmed it on the web site) that Michael will be playing Antigonus in The Winter’s Tale at the Garrick Theatre. Full details can be found at http://www.branaghtheatre.com/  but I think you’ll find tickets are in short supply as Judi Dench was announced to be playing Paulina in the production at the beginning of the booking period!! It doesn’t look as if he’s in any of the other plays but the casting certainly looks interesting.

Michael will be appearing at the Spitalfields Music Festival presenting a selection of English poetry inspired by The Sixteen’s concert programme including works of John Donne, Christopher Fry and WH Auden. It will be performed at one of Spitalfields 18th-century houses. Click on the above link and go to Poetry Reading on the 3rd June.

Michael recently presented Sweet William at both the Buenos Aires Shakespeare Festival and the Uruguayan Shakespeare Festival. Click here to read an interview which appeared in the Buenos Aires Herald. I have also added an article which appeared in the Irish Times about Let Me Play the Lion Too and a review of his appearance at The Theatre Royal Winchester. Following Michael’s very well received King Lear in New York last year he was nominated for Best Male Principle Actor in the Falstaff Awards. Unfortunately, he lost out to Tom Hiddlestone’s Coriolanus.
